Born in Toronto, Canada, Jane moved to Texas when she was nine years old. She has proudly called Austin home for 18 years. After graduating from U.T. with a Bachelor of Journalism, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in publishing and landed a gig at Interview magazine. For the next five years, Jane worked in social work on a variety of programs ranging from assisting persons with mental illness and mental retardation in their pursuit for employment to supervising five Intermediate Care Facilities for persons with mental retardation. Two of her favorite hobbies are photography and jewelry design. She’s worked with editorial, fashion, wedding, portrait and commercial photographers on shoots ranging from the Austin American-Statesman, Texas Monthly, Tribeza magazine, and the Austin Chronicle to CD covers and promotional materials for musical artists such as Patti Griffin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, 38 Special, and Beth Chapman. Jane's jewelry has been featured in several Austin boutiques: Westlake Jewelers, Gossip, Parts & Labor, and Luxe and worn by the actress Winona Ryder. In honor of her brother, Tom, and mother, Kathryn, who both passed away from sarcoma cancer, Jane helped found the Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation (www.sarcomacancer.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting persons affected by this rare disease. The purchase of her first investment home inspired Jane to follow her greatest passion: helping others find their dream home.
